Trivia

♦ Helen Mirren had to learn how to shoot a gun without blinking so as to look more like an experienced killer.
♦ The purse Victoria uses as a weapon was Helen Mirren’s own purse. It was given to her as a gift from Giorgio Armani. Since it went so well with the dress she was wearing, and the purse was part of the script, she asked if she could use it. The producers said yes.
♦ The white gown that Helen Mirren wears at the climax impressed the actress so much she seriously considered wearing it to the Oscars.
♦ Brian Cox and Helen Mirren play a Russian and British spy, respectively. In real life, their ancestry is reversed: Brian Cox is Scottish, and Mirren, though born in England, has Russian ancestry.
♦ Helen Mirren’s Victoria was apparently inspired by Martha Stewart’s demeanor and perfectionism.
♦ RED is an acronym for “Retired, Extremely Dangerous”.

Character’s Quotes

• Well, I was with MI6. And the relationship wasn’t… sanctioned. So when it came to light, my loyalty was questioned. And I was ordered to kill him. It was a test. […] I put three bullets in his chest.
• Yes, I thought it might be nice to have a bit of girl time together. You know, get to know each other. And I-I just wanted to tell you that in all the years I’ve known Francis… I’ve never seen him like this. […] So if you break his heart, I will kill you. And bury your body in the woods.
